First Teaser for UY5

I'm going to be posting a few teasers to lead up to release date... which still isn't set, but shouldn't be too far away.  Today I've been working on the cover (I make my own covers) while waiting for the final edits of UY5 to get back to me.

Anyway... hope this little bit helps tide you over:

Teaser 1:

“What—“

He lifts a finger.  Just one, but the simplicity of that motion speaks louder than words.  I cut off.

“Don’t press your luck,” he warns.  “I want you to take a silent minute to compose yourself.  Then we can risk going back in there.  And Lilly?  Tread carefully.  Wait until we’re outside before speaking your mind again.”

I narrow my eyes at him.  What’s he hinting at?

“I’m not going back,” I say, crossing my arms.  “I—”

“Two.”  Stonehart’s voice is soft and slices through my protest like a frosted blade.  He lifts a second finger.  “I’ve been very generous with you tonight, Lilly-flower.  As proof of my new intentions.  But if you think of testing my desires a third time… well, the result will be very unpleasant.  For us both.  I don’t want to backtrack with you.  I hate wasting my time.”

Please tell me he pays and pays BIG. I just can't imagine a satisfactory ending if he doesn't. I can't even think of something vile enough to have happen to him. You could start with the electricuting him a few times. Please, please, please. If she falls in love and they walk off into the sunset without him suffering, aaargh.

I love a good redemption story. So, while I want him to suffer....I also want him to redeem himself in the end.

As long as he suffers greatly.

Yes much suffering is needed, and his "redemption" should be served in an electrified cage with a collar!

I agree Nikki! I do want him to suffer but I just can't help but feel that he really (in his obviously unstable mind) thinks Lily deserves what he is doing for some reason... But I would eventually love to see it turned around and be a HEA I'm a sucker for them lol

I LOVE the way you are weaving this fascinating story with the complex characters in the relationships of Jeremy and LILLY. Can't wait to see how it comes together, I'm hoping for a happy ending.

Happy ending? Haven't you read the prologue in the contract? Not sure how you find a happy ending in there....

Happy Ending?

Happy Ending? Are you kidding me. The only way I see this ending is with a BULLET between his eyes.
Ms. Edwards I am a patient person but this is becoming Very rude of you. Release the book already. It has already been a full month from when the book was to be released by Your time line.
I read ALOT of Books and am known to wait 1 to 3 yrs for a book. But then again the Authors give a time line and keep to it. If you are wanting to become a world class Author you also need to keep to your time line and stop playing these games.

I really need to see his suffering before I can think of forgiving him, and if Lilly settles for anything less I will be very angry and disappointed in her. She is strong and can't just allow him to get away with this without some real sacrifice or suffering from him. I just can't think how this is going to end, certainly if he keeps it up she needs to get hold of a gun! Who knows the quiet cook may turn out to be her saviour. lol

rude much (happy ending?)

You're the one being rude. She's only human. Missing a deadline is ok specially when it takes all those other authors 1-3 years and she's producing in a month. But she still has to go threw the editing process like every other writer. So feel her shoes and do what she's doing or you could just back off of her. The book will get here and saying such rude comments won't get it here any quicker

I do write am I am one of those writers that give a time line and then stick to it. If you remember the intro in the first book stated the time line. I can understand running behind but this seems more like playing games. No writer likes to be made a fool of and by playing the games Ms Edwards is playing she is making a fool of herself and being " Rude" to those that are taking the "Time " to read her stories. I am sorry that you don't like my opinion but I am entitled to it! KA

Her time line was based on uy5 being a smaller book. So she decided to write it as a full fledged novel because she wanted to give her fans what they want. So yes, she needed to change her time frame. Most people are understanding. But there are a few who think they are better then others and those others aren't allowed to make mistakes. By all means you don't have to read her books. I mean she writes them for entertainment. She could stop right now if she wanted to and it would ultimately be her decision. On that note of a writer giving a timeline and sticking to it. Well most writers only write one book per year so that gives them tune to write, edit and rewrite if they see fit. She has done her best to get her books out at around a month each. I think that's pretty good. And you as a "fellow writer" could show some understanding. Instead you just sound like some pissed off reader who has no patience. That's just my opinion :)

Rude ?

I honestly think it is pretty funny that you are so concerned with her book and when it will be coming out. If it upsets you so much that the book has been delayed because the author does not want to disappoint her readers and she rather have it delayed than publishing a book that will only disappoint, then simply stop reading her books and move along. I'll admit to even feeling a bit down because the book has been delayed but at least she keeps in touch with us and keeps us updated on the process, instead of keeping us in the dark and that deserves much respect. If you are an author, simply worry about yourself and your books and let others be.

Man I love your characters! they are so alive! Lilly is strong and awesome and Jeremy is well...crazy, but always a good read. sometimes when im reading some of the happier scenes i forget how nuts he is. Of course when that happens i just have to remember he made her eat a bird... Any ways ive no clue how i want thier story to end i just love your writing and am so happy you share your talent with the masses.

So far Lilly has met or exceeded expectations. Most book characters in this situation go all Stockholm Syndrom, fall apart and start simpering quickly. Lilly... jeez, she took 5 weeks of starvation in the dark, with food sitting there - damn near died. That she is now breaking down mentally is a near given. She is a very young person with no training in resisting torture, and no one should doubt that Stonehart is using torture in a well planned cycle: on then off to break her will (to what end I have no idea - where is he going with this?)

As to Mr. S's reward? Me, I would lean to castration...slowly.....with a hot butter knife... while wearing the collar. Nothing justifies what he has done.

I was just wondering if anyone else remembers the begining if the 1st installment? It seemed to me as if Lilly may die. It was like reading the ending first. I am more intrested to see how the author gets back to that spot. Lets just hope the story really doesnt end there. Im not a huge fan of the installment "books" but this one has caught my attention.

Do you remember in the beginning where it says Rose was putting liquid like water up to Lilly's mouth and Rose says "Mr. Stonehart will be so happy or proud..." something like that. Then Lilly seals her lips shut to refuse. I don't recall it being said in the first 4 books. Did I miss it?

I have been wondering when this part was coming too! At the very beginning someone is begging her to wake up I'm guessing Jeremy and then it flicks to 24hrs before when Rose was begging her to drink... I just can't remember where in the timeline we are up to... The water part is in December 2014 then it flicks back to October 2013 and I can't quite remember where Book 4 ended...

Serena, I read all four books in one night! I think I'm going to go back and look at the timeline again. I don't think Book 5 will wrap up this story. I pray that Book 5 introduces that pivotal moment. Lilly isn't suffering from "Stockholm syndrome" yet... Do you think Jeremy is "brainwashing" her to be a ruthless business woman?
